Family Photographer

It’s no secret that I love living in Charlotte.  I love so many things about it, especially our amazing South Charlotte neighborhood.  When I describe it to people that don’t live here, I often say that I didn’t think that neighborhoods like this still existed.  The kids get off the school bus and play outside and ride their bikes until dinner time.  A walk around one of the many neighborhood loops takes three times as long because we stop and talk to so many people.  There are so many wonderful families with young children that our girls will get to grow up with.  We feel so lucky to live here and am so glad that this sweet family moved in just a few houses down from us last summer.  I am so lucky to get to be neighbors, friends and a family photographer for so many great people.

Meet Vance, an adorable little guy just about 18 months old.  He was a ham for the camera and such a happy little boy.  As you can tell from the pictures below, he loves water!  Vance and the family dog, Ruby, found the bird bath very entertaining!  They look like they’re up to some trouble!  He also loved his giant sprinkler and kept trying to drink from it.  Have you ever seen such a fun sprinkler?!  Like most toddlers, Vance loved to drink the water straight from the sprinkler.  Why do kids like to do this?!  This is a constant battle in our house (hose, sprinkler, fountain, tub water).  Why?!

Since we did the photo session at their home and in their backyard everyone felt comfortable.  This is definitely the easiest way to photograph toddlers.  Vance got to play with his favorite toys and play on his own swing set.  The fact that the late afternoon light sparkled through their trees was an added bonus!

This was such a fun session and their awesome “up for anything” attitudes made it one of the easiest ever!
