Maternity Photos
I love when clients hire me to take their maternity photos in addition to their newborn pictures. I love the story that the maternity photos tell when paired with newborn photos. There is so much anticipation and excitement in maternity photos and nothing more beautiful than a glowing mother to be. Once you pair those images with those of the new parents holding their new baby, something magical happens.
Jayme is from Pittsburg and is an Ohio University graduate and both she and her husband Tom are huge Pittsburgh Steelers fans. Since I am originally from Cleveland and a Miami University grad, anyone who knows about rivalries might think that we wouldn’t get along but that couldn’t be farther from the truth! Jayme and Tom have one of my favorite love stories!
They met while she was studying abroad in England during college. After her study abroad program ended, Jayme came back to the U.S. and Tom stayed home in England. Talk about a long distance relationship! After trying long distance for a while, they both took a leap of faith and Tom moved to the U.S. to be with Jayme. Lucky for them, it worked and now they are happily married and will be the proud parents of sweet Amelia! What an amazing love story they have to share!
When Jayme, Tom and I met to discuss their vision for their maternity photos they talked about how travel and water were very important to them. Since Charlotte isn’t on the ocean, we compromised with the beautiful McDowell Nature Preserve on Lake Wylie just south of Charlotte.
Despite some iffy weather this past spring, Mother Nature cooperated with a beautiful sunset that only enhanced these beautiful maternity photos. Tom and Jayme were naturals in front of the camera. I would be halfway through my sentence of “OK Tom, take your hand” or “Jayme tilt your head” and they would pose exactly how I wanted them to!
Since I am a little behind on posting these maternity photos, I am excited to say that sweet Amelia arrived and you will be able to see her gorgeous newborn photos soon!
