Cleveland Mini Sessions
When I announced that I would be hosting Cleveland mini sessions, Stacey was one of the first to sign up. I knew Stacey from our days at Miami University and was excited that this would give us a chance to reconnect in person rather than just online through Facebook. I could tell from her Facebook posts that she and her daughter had a special relationship and I couldn’t wait to capture it for them.
It had been drizzling the day of the session and I was nervous we would get rained out and I’d have to head home to Charlotte before getting their session in. About an hour before we were supposed to meet, it cleared up! The hazy light during this session was gorgeous. We found a beautiful location in the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks that had a gorgeous pebble beach and walking trail through it. I knew from seeing pictures online that little Mya was an adorable little girl but in person she was even more beautiful. She also listened extremely well (as a mom of someone Mya’s age who isn’t the best listener, I am super impressed and jealous). She was a natural in front of the camera and the camera obviously loved her too. The combination of the stunning location, the hazy evening light and a beautiful family made for a perfect combination.
Stacey was planning to use these images for family Christmas presents so I promised her I wouldn’t share them until after the holidays. I loved so many of their photos, it was hard to narrow down what to share. Now that the holidays are over, I am excited to share Stacey and Mya!
Since we are hoping to make it to Cleveland every October, I am looking forward to photographing them year after year!
Enjoy!
