Charlotte Photographer | 2104 Review
What a year! 2014 far exceeded any of my expectations. As most of you know, this is a second career for me. I have spent a lot of time this year reflecting on how I ended up as a photographer. It is so far from what I ever imagined myself doing but it is far more fulfilling and rewarding than I ever imagined a career could be. I’ve also never worked harder than I do now. Taking pictures is only a small percentage of how I actually spend my time. It has all been worth it.
I love getting to meet new clients and hear their stories. I don’t mean this to sound cliche but I really consider it such a privilege to capture life’s milestones for them. I’ve had clients cry when they see their family photos or newborn pictures. If I was ever looking for reassurance that I’m making a difference in what I am doing, tears of joy are more than sufficient. I especially love when clients bring me back for more sessions. Watching families and children grow is a lot of fun. Some clients have even become friends, an added bonus I didn’t even consider when I launched my business.
I enjoy the balance that having my own business gives me. I don’t have to worry about missing anything in girls’ lives because for the most part, I control my schedule. I will say that in some ways I have paid for that in late night editing sessions! A fair trade for sure.
I couldn’t fit a third of my 2014 sessions on this collage! Putting this together brought back so many great memories from 2014.
2015 is going to be exciting, both personally and professionally! I can’t wait to share what is in store for next year.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you thank you for an amazing 2014!
